With approximately 15% of American adults experiencing hearing loss, learning ASL is a great way to make sure no one is ever left out of the conversation. What better way to learn another language than through a fun interactive game?
We, the interns of iperdesign, decided to make it our mission to craft and design a game to help everyone of every age learn ASL in an entertaining and interactive way. By earning trophies and posting progress, you’re only encouraged to do better and strive to learn the best you can.
This is a project has been three months in the making and although we put our all into it, AmeSLan is still only a mock up. Should enough interest be placed on the app, we could continue to design and finish it, but for now AmeSLan is a work in progress.

Gameplay
A fun interactive way to learn ASL! With multiple choice, true or false, and matching, you’ll be able to sign in no time!
Favorites
If you find you look up a sign more regularly or want to save a sign for a special day, favorite the sign in the dictionary by taping on the heart icon! It’s that easy!
Struggle Signs
During gameplay if you find there are signs you have a harder time remembering, just add them to your Struggle List by tapping the face icon, so you can practice them separately to really learn the tough ones.

Search
Use this function by typing in a word that you wish to earn the sign for! With a written description and visual example, you can learn signs quickly in case of emergency or forgetfulness.
Scroll
You can also scroll through the comprehensive dictionary to find the words you need or pick any word to learn that seems interesting to you.
Favorite
Want to add words to your list that you love but haven’t reached during the game yet? Tap the heart icon in the dictionary entry to store them as well.

Challenge yourself to keep practicing by using our trophies as goals! From practicing early in the morning to completing all the lessons, there’s always something you can strive for.
